There can be numerous reasons for this, ranging from that they’ve spent their time thinking about something else, something more pressing, to that they’ve limited their analysis in some way. In any case, it’s not so simple that hierarchy is bad and equality good, or vice versa for that matter (though I would say this is closer to the truth).
